1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the My Name to Kanji mobile app ("the App"), operated by Choppli ("we", "us"). By using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. What the App is
The App creates Japanese-inspired kanji names and original character cards from a name you type, for entertainment and creative use only.
The App does not provide official translations, legal names, or culturally verified Japanese names. Before using a result for a tattoo, a legal name, or any official purpose, please consult a native Japanese speaker. We are not responsible for how you use a result.
3. Free of charge, supported by ads
The App is free. Creating a character card requires watching a rewarded video ad through to the end. Banner and occasional full-screen ads are also shown. Ads are delivered by Google AdMob and are subject to Google's own terms and policies.
There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
4. Age
The App is not intended for children under 13. If you are a minor in your country, please use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
5. Your content and your data
Names you enter and the cards you create are stored only on your device. See our Privacy Policy at https://choppli.com/mynametokanji/privacypolicy/ for details.
You may save and share the cards you create, including on social media, for personal and non-commercial purposes.
6. Our content
The illustrations, fonts, dictionaries, card designs, app name and logo are owned by us or used under licence. The bundled Noto Serif JP subset is used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; its licence text is available from the device's open-source licence screen.
You may not extract, redistribute, or resell the illustrations or other assets outside a card created by the App.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the App to create content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or that impersonates another person, and do not attempt to interfere with the App or with the ads it shows.
8. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time. Features described in the store listing may change in later versions.
9. Disclaimer and liability
The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the App or of the names and cards it produces, including any loss of saved cards caused by deleting the App or by a device failure.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence applies instead.
