Privacy Policy

Article 1. Operator and Scope

Choppli is a brand operated by Wity Ltd. This Privacy Policy applies to the Kaiwa Days mobile application for Android and iOS and the official website at choppli.com/kaiwa/.

Operator: Wity Ltd.
Representative: Norihiro Murata
Company information: Official company profile

We will provide the operator’s address without delay upon request through the contact form in Article 9.

Article 2. Information Handled by the App

Learning records and settings

The app stores information on the user’s device, including learning progress, saved phrases, learning activity, display language, reading-aid preferences, notification settings, launch count, and advertising display management data. This information is used to continue learning sessions, show review content, retain settings, schedule learning reminders, and manage the frequency of advertisements.

Voice data and text input

When the user permits microphone access, the pronunciation-check feature captures audio and processes it with an on-device speech recognition model. Recorded audio is held temporarily for processing and is not saved as an audio file or uploaded. Text entered in the free-conversation feature is also processed by an on-device AI model.

The app does not include a function that sends this learning information, audio, or entered text to our servers or to a cloud AI service for learning-related processing. Information may nevertheless be handled in connection with advertising, model downloads, device text-to-speech, device backups, and other functions described below.

Device functions

The app uses the device’s speech engine for text-to-speech. Whether a network connection is used and how information is handled depend on the speech engine and device settings. Microphone and notification permissions can be changed in the device settings.

If the user chooses to share a learning result, the shared content is passed to the app or service selected by the user. After sharing, the information is handled under the terms and privacy policy of the selected recipient.

Article 3. In-App Advertising and Model Downloads

Google AdMob

The app uses Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and sends information to Google, including IP addresses, device identifiers such as advertising identifiers, interactions with advertisements and the app, and diagnostic and performance information. Google uses this information for purposes including ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement. An IP address may be used to estimate a device’s general location. The specific information collected and the advertisements shown vary according to the operating system, device settings, permissions, and advertising settings.

Advertising identifiers and related choices can be managed in the device’s privacy and advertising settings. Changing these settings does not necessarily stop all advertisements or communications required for ad delivery.

Hugging Face

When the user chooses to download an AI or speech-recognition model, the app connects to Hugging Face and its content delivery infrastructure. Connection information, including the IP address and requested resource, is provided to the distributor and may be used to deliver files, operate and improve the service, and maintain security. Model download requests do not include pronunciation-check audio or text entered in the free-conversation feature.

Article 4. Website Information, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

Access and display language

When the website is accessed, information required to deliver the page, such as the IP address, requested page, and browser information, is sent to the web server. Depending on the server configuration, this connection information may be recorded in access logs.

The website reads the browser’s language settings to select a display language and stores a language selected manually in the browser’s local storage. The saved selection can be removed by returning the language setting to automatic or by deleting the website’s data in the browser.

Google AdSense

The website uses Google AdSense. AdSense is a website advertising service and is separate from AdMob, which is used in the app. Google and businesses involved in ad delivery use cookies and similar technologies to deliver advertisements based on previous visits to this and other websites, measure advertising effectiveness, and prevent fraud. Information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, page-view activity, and interactions with advertisements is sent in connection with advertising.

Personalized advertising can be managed through Google My Ad Center. Cookies can be restricted or deleted in the browser settings. These actions do not necessarily stop all advertisements or communications.

Article 5. Contact Information

We use Google Forms for inquiries. We collect the content of bug reports, requests, privacy requests, and any contact details voluntarily entered by the user. This information is used to review the inquiry, investigate problems, improve the service, and respond to requests concerning personal information.

Responses are stored only in Google Forms and can be viewed on our side only by the person responsible for operating the service. As a rule, we do not provide individual replies to general bug reports or feature requests. For a request concerning personal information, we use the contact details provided by the requester as necessary to verify and respond to the request.

When the form is used, Google also handles connection information, cookies, and related information in accordance with its own policy. Please do not enter passwords or other information unnecessary for handling the inquiry.

Article 6. Retention and Deletion

  • Learning records, settings, and similar app data are stored on the device. They can be erased by using the operating system’s app-data deletion function or by deleting the app. On iOS, the “Offload App” function may leave app data on the device.
  • Downloaded models can be deleted from the app’s settings.
  • Depending on the device’s backup settings, saved app data may also be stored in a backup provided by the operating system provider or another service. Information remaining in backups or at a sharing destination must be managed using the settings and functions of the relevant service.
  • We have not established a uniform retention period or automatic deletion schedule for inquiry information. Deletion requests are accepted through the contact point in Article 9.
  • The retention periods and deletion methods for information collected independently by Google, Hugging Face, and other external services are governed by each provider’s policy and settings.

Article 7. External Services, Third-Party Provision, and Processing Outside Japan

Information is sent to the external services described above for advertising, model downloads, and inquiry handling. Google and Hugging Face may store and process information outside Japan, including in the United States. For information about each service’s use and sharing of information, safeguards, and user choices, please refer to the following official resources.

If we provide personal data under our control to a third party, we will obtain the data subject’s consent in advance, except where the provision constitutes legally permitted outsourcing or falls under another exception permitted by law. Where information is provided to a third party outside Japan, we will follow the procedures required by applicable law. Publication of this Policy alone is not treated as consent where separate consent is required.

Article 8. Security Measures

The account used to manage inquiry information is protected through password management, access restrictions, and two-step verification. Questions about our security measures may be submitted through the contact point in the following article.

Article 9. Requests and Inquiries

To request notification of purpose of use; disclosure; correction, addition, or deletion; suspension of use or erasure; suspension of third-party provision; or disclosure of records of third-party provision concerning personal data held by us, or to submit a question or complaint about the handling of information, please use the following form.

Choppli / Kaiwa Days Contact Form

For a request concerning personal information, please state that purpose and include the details of the request, information necessary to identify the relevant submission, such as the approximate date of the inquiry, and a contact address for our response. We will conduct identity verification to the extent necessary and respond in accordance with applicable law. If we cannot grant all or part of a request, we will explain the reason.

We cannot access or delete learning information that is stored only on the user’s device and is not held by us. Please manage that information using the methods described in Article 6. For information held independently by an external service, please also contact that service provider.

Article 10. Changes to This Policy

We may review this Policy in response to changes in the service, the handling of information, or applicable laws and regulations. The revised text and revision date will be published on this website. If applicable law requires notice or consent for a change, we will follow the required procedure.
